According to the Telegraph, the technology has been tailored specifically to pick up heart disease, and lung cancer cases will be accessible to NHS hospitals free of charge by this summer.

The AI system is said to be faster at diagnosing such health conditions more efficiently than cardiologists by monitoring the timing of heartbeats in scans more closely, and gathering important details that can sometimes be missed by doctors.

The results of its detecting abilities in clinical trials across six different cardiology units are meant to be published later this year, which could be life-changing for many and reduced the number of misdiagnosis cases, amongst other things.
